Terms of Service & Participant Agreement

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS (Applies to All Users)

  • Acknowledge of Risk: All products sold or distributed by Critter Overlord involve the housing of live biological organisms. The user acknowledges that live insects are unpredictable. Critter Overlord is not liable for stings, bites, allergic reactions, or the escape of insects into the user's environment.

  • DIY Responsibility: Our products often require user assembly. You agree that the structural integrity of the final build depends on your adherence to instructions. Critter Overlord is not responsible for damages resulting from improper sealing, glue application, or mechanical assembly.

  • Intellectual Property: All designs, branding, and "Formicary Architecture" are the sole property of Critter Overlord. Unauthorized reproduction or 3D scanning of our components is strictly prohibited.

2. BETA TESTING & PROTOTYPE PROVISIONS (Applies to Beta Kits)

If you are receiving a product marked as "Beta," "Prototype," or "Kit," you are a "Pioneer" and agree to the following heightened terms:

  • Experimental Status: You understand that the Beta Ant Kit has not undergone final consumer safety or durability testing. It is a functional prototype. You accept all risks associated with testing "unfinished" hardware.

  • The "Escape" Waiver: While our designs aim for 100% containment, prototypes may have tolerances that are still being refined. You agree to house your colony in a "secondary containment" area (like a tray) if necessary, and you waive the right to hold Critter Overlord liable for any ant escapes.

  • Confidentiality & Non-Disparagement: You are part of an inner circle. You agree not to post public "reviews" that characterize prototype flaws as "final product quality." We ask that you provide direct feedback to us first to allow for iteration.

  • Feedback & Media Rights: By sending us photos of your setup or filling out feedback forms, you grant Critter Overlord a world-wide, royalty-free license to use that media in marketing, social media, and product development. We will credit your username/name as a Founding Pioneer unless you request otherwise.

3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Critter Overlord shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Damage to furniture or home surfaces.

  • Loss of ant colonies or biological specimens.

  • Personal injury during the assembly process (e.g., cuts from acrylic or tool mishaps).
